Charles Fleeman has worked for a variety of prominent corporations and organizations including Harris Corporation, Heller Financial, UPS, Fireman's Fund, American Red Cross, and Florida State University. His career includes roles as manager, officer, negotiator, advisor, writer, marketer, and trainer. As an instructor and writer, Charles works to develop people and organizational excellence. He fostered employee understanding and compliance by writing and producing training guides regarding Purchase Money Security Interests, Legalization of Documents for use in foreign countries, Distributor/Agent Agreements, and Confidentiality Agreements. He was a founding member of a division Action Committee that worked as a bridge between employee ideas and management action, and he also wrote and produced a related newsletter that employees voted as the best new practice. Charles has brought his first-rate ethics, diligence, and insights to a variety of sensitive matters such as M&A, criminal investigation, regulatory inquiry, complex commercial litigation, and training. In 1989, before the Web was integral to officework, Charles championed and implemented the use of online public records to increase the speed and capacity for closing secured lending transactions and save money. He streamlined contract preparation by developing a library of cut-and-paste contract terms and dozens of standard form documents. Charles put into effect the ways and means that increased quality control and turnaround time tenfold in the due diligence-to-document process for international equipment dealer agreements. Charles is a past member of the California Secretary of State UCC Advisory Committee, a group formed in conjunction with the California Bankers Association and the Commercial Finance Conference of California. He was a member of the UCC Article 9 Filing Project, a committee formed to create new UCC filing forms and rules in connection with the Revised UCC Article 9. He's been listed in Who's Who in Finance and Industry in America. Charles was born in Chicago and raised in Southern California. He received his MS in Communication from Florida State University, and his BA in Humanities with honors from the California State University. He is a graduate of the UCLA Extension Attorney Assistant Training Program, where he also earned an Award in Business with an Accounting Emphasis. Charles is a Certified Legal Assistant by the National Association of Legal Assistants. |
